Walkie-Talkie

Oliver got these for his birthday. He's finally getting the hang of how to use them He usually talks to Gramma when he uses it.

Two cute outfits

Wyatt looks like he's ready to go jogging. I love this outfit (thanks, Mom!). It's so soft but not like fleece...fleece makes my hands feel dry.

Here he is looking like a lumberjack...or at least like Bob. I love the little flannel shirt.
Strangely enough this was a hand-me-down from Oliver but I have NO pictures of Oliver in this outfit. Wyatt's hair is a lot lighter than Oliver's was at this age. It looks almost blonde in this picture but it's actually light brown.

He's an animal!

Wyatt after a bath. He was so cute in the tiger towel.

I guess that's what I get

I told Oliver to show me his teeth. Usually he'll smile when I say that but this time...well...

Bob added the caption...hilarious!

Wyatt's 2 month appointment

Wyatt had his appointment today at 8:30. We almost missed it because we were so tired that we slept til 8! I think we set a record getting out of the house. Anyway, he's 12 pounds 11 ounces (75th percentile) and 24.5 inches (90-95th percentile) and I don't remember his head measurement but it was in the 25th percentile. (tall chubby boy with a tiny head) Everything else was right on schedule - he's following the light, he's cooing and smiling, he's grabbing and holding. She said his heart and lungs sound good; I guess he didn't get the murmur like Oliver had. When it came time for his shots we told her we were only getting 2 of the 4 that are scheduled for that age. She told us they don't do that anymore - all the kids at their practice get their shots on the government recommmended schedule because some people didn't follow up and get the ones they skipped. We went ahead and got all the ones for today but I guess now we have to figure out if we want to stay with them or switch to someone more flexible.

Overall Wyatt is doing really well!

Howdy, Pardner!

Wyatt got dressed today in his cowboy outfit so I thought I'd see if Oliver's old cowboy hat would fit him. It was a bit big but it was too cute!

For pictures of Oliver as a cowboy, click here - incidentally, I used the same post title without knowing it

poor little cry baby face!

Poor Oliver. He got upset today when I told him he couldn't do something. I can't even remember what it was but he was crying so hard. Poor thing. Bob came over and gave him hugs to make him feel better so he stopped crying after just a minute but he is just so pitiful!

One of the things I end up saying a lot now is "use your words". Oliver has such a huge vocabulary and I'm sure he understands more than he says but sometimes he just forgets and starts screaming or crying. It's frustrating because he can tell me what he wants or needs but doesn't.

Mark it on the calendar!!

Today was the first day that Oliver did not use a diaper or have an accident!! He woke up wet, of course, but once he was up he used the potty every time - all day. We even spent hours and hours away from home without having an accident. I did put him in a diaper for the birthday party but when we got home (5 hours later) he was DRY...even though he'd had 2 juice boxes and a big cup of juice. I am so so so so proud!!!!!

Oliver reading to Wyatt

This was too cute not to capture. Oliver took his book over to Wyatt and was telling him what was in the pictures. Of course, Wyatt can't really see the pictures but that was ok. Notice Oliver's big boy underpants! He's been in them for three days now with only a few accidents. We even went to the museum for a playdate and he went potty 3 times while we were there..and no accidents! He's doing really well and has started to tell me more and more when he needs to go. What a great job!

Intense stare

Wyatt is very alert and aware of what's going on. He looks all around when he's awake. He seems to enjoy going outside because there's lots of light and plenty to look at. Bob sat him up a little in the stroller so he could watch Oliver and Jasper play.

After a while he started blowing bubbles, it was so cute!

Same pose but looking very different

This first one is Wyatt, the second one is Oliver. They do a lot of the same things. They both look super cute sitting up like this. They look like they are thinking really hard.
This is still one of my favorite pictures of Oliver. Look at those fat cheeks!! I just love how he's holding his hands, too.

Can you tell which is which?

One of these pictures is Oliver and one is Wyatt. They look so much alike that Bob thought they were both of Wyatt. Can you tell who is who?

Arts and Crafts show

We went to the arboretum today for the arts and crafts show. We had a good time browsing the booths, drinking lemonade, watching dancers, listening to singers and eating ice cream. We didn't buy anything (although I was soooo close) but had a good time anyway. When we were leaving Wyatt got hungry so we stopped at the playground so Oliver could play while he ate. Then we went to PieWorks for dinner...yum! Cheddar bacon burger pizza - it was so good! There was a couple with a little girl sitting diagonally across from us and Oliver kept staring at the little girl. Wyatt started crying so I got up to rock him a little and we stuck up a conversation - now we have a playdate! I'm so excited because they are members of the GCM just like we are so now we have someone to go with. Charlotte (the little girl) is 20 months so she and Oliver are almost the same age. We're going this week either Wednesday or Thursday. What fun!

Oliver and the potty

Today I decided to just bite the bullet and get this potty training thing on the fast track. I put Oliver on the potty when he woke up and he did his usual business (poop and pee). Then I put him on the potty every hour after that for the rest of the day except when he took his nap. He peed every time but two, and once was because he had just wet his diaper. He only had two wet diapers all day though! He woke up from his almost 3 hour nap dry! What a great job he did. Hopefully this will be a trend and I'll be able to keep up my end of it. Oh yeah, the first time he went today he told me he had to go so that's another good thing. Toward the end of the day he would fight a little going in because I think he was just tired of sitting there but it'll be easier once he can tell me every time he needs to go.

Anyway, HOORAY FOR OLIVER!!

Scroll down for pictures!

He played himself to sleep

Cool dude in a hoodie

Another shirt from Aunt Sarah. Oliver loves a hoodie!

Cool dude!

Oliver rediscovered his sunglasses yesterday. He will actually wear them now instead of just ripping them off to play with them. Doesn't he look so cool?! I love the outfit he's wearing, too. (Thanks, Aunt Sarah)

Two Happy Faces

Wyatt is getting quite talkative. When he talks he smiles like crazy...like he's proud of himself. What a cute smile! I can't seem to get him to make the huge smile when I have the camera out so this is cute, but it's not the cutest. I'll keep trying.
