Intro to Worms 101

First, let Daddy find the worm. He'll hold it and you just stand back and look at it. Don't let it near you - worms are icky!!

After you are sure Daddy put the worm down pick up a stick and show it to everyone. Call it a worm.
Find a shovel. Have Daddy put worms in the shovel so you can look at them. When you are done looking at them fling them back into the dirt.

Finish by filling in the hole Daddy dug.

Oliver did eventually touch a worm. When he did it stuck to his finger for about 1/100th of a second and he cried for about 5 minutes. He had to keep looking over his shoulder, though, to make sure the worm wasn't crawling out of the dirt to get him.

Wyatt enjoying the great outdoors.

I put Wyatt in his cool (hand-me-down) Panthers jacket to go outside but then realized the snaps had all come off! Oh well, he wore it anyway - it wasn't really that cold. Oliver and I showed him leaves and sticks and things...all of which he cooed and laughed at. He spent a good deal of time with his left sleeve in his mouth, though.

Playing around...

Oliver was "fishing" with his glow stick. It is actually battery operated so it's pretty cool. Anyway it has a string on one end and he was using it to "catch" the fish. I actually made that fish using Bob's jigsaw...or scroll saw?...band saw? ok some kind of saw, but I made it!

Here he is being a jedi. I love the action shot!

I voted!

Yesterday we waited in line for about an hour to vote. This was my first time voting...ever. It was easy. The touch screen made everything super simple. While we were waiting in the line Oliver was really well behaved for the most part and Wyatt hung out (asleep half the time) in the Moby. I've had 3 people call or come by the house today trying to get me to vote for someone or other. Weird

Anyway, Oliver is now next to me saying "Mim...Maverick! Drill, Baby, Drill!!" --too funny!!

Halloween fun

Oliver ws doing a lot better after his nap and some chicken soup so we decided to go out to Reedy Fork for some trick or treating. Oliver was, of course, Batman - the only one we saw. Wyatt was in the Moby, which is orange, so I got some black felt and made a Jack-O-Lantern face and stuck it on. He was super cute! When we started out Oliver was shy whenever anyone opened the door but he always said thank you when he got the candy. After a while he would say "treat please" when they opened the door...I think he got extra candy because he was so cute! At one point a guy opened the door and said "What do you say?" and Oliver replied "Give it!!"...I think that was the funniest part of the evening. Anyway, Oliver did really well walking around and was only scared a few times when the people giving out candy were dressed up really scary. One guy even scared me - I thought he was a mannequin but then he moved and I almost jumped out of my skin! Oh how we all laughed after that. Wyatt did well, too. He hung out in the sling and made adorable faces at people. We had a super night!

I don't feel good :(

Poor Oliver has a horrible cold. He's got a stuffy runny nose, a horrible cough and he just seems miserable. He was up until 12:30 last night coughing and just couldn't get to sleep. Finally I took him to the rocking chair and rocked him until he fell asleep. He seems a little better today. I'm pumping him full of juice/water and chicken soup in the hopes that he'll be better by trick or treat time. He's very snuggly today - I guess that means he really doesn't feel well at all. Poor baby!

Playing on the playmat...together...

Oliver got down with Wyatt this afternoon and played with him on the playmat. He really wanted to hold Wy's hand but couldn't get a good hold on it. Wyatt kept waving it around

Then it was tummy time. Oliver wanted to have tummy time, too, so he did just what Wyatt did...

When Wyatt got his head up, Oliver got his up ...look how well Wyatt is getting up!

Oliver was also very good at encouraging Wyatt. He says "Good Jobby!!"

Bob's hard work

Bob worked all day Sunday taking down the shelves, cleaning up the porch, taking down the wall, and then putting everything back up and reorganizing. He did a super job and I really like the way the shelves are now. This was, of course, to make room for the new freezer.

He ain't heavy...he's my brother!

Playing together and a few misc ones

Oliver loves his phone. Most of the time he'll "call" Gramma when he plays with it. Today he wanted Wyatt to talk to Gramma, too. He was very careful not to smash the phone into Wyatt's head or anything - he did a super job of sharing. They played like this for a while until Oliver got bored with Wyatt not talking to Gramma like he was supposed to. At that point Oliver ran off into the playroom...

He's so happy all the time...well, most of the time anyway. He's so easy going and always ready with this big smiley face.
Wyatt, on the other hand, looks terrified! I have NO idea what he was looking at when I took this picture.
He's pretty easy going too, easily amused and quick with the smile...although...no teeth in this gummy little smile...so cute!

I have good boys. I'm very happy with the way they are growing up into big smart well behaved boys. They both have their moments when they are too loud or won't do what they're told (I know, Wyatt's too young to understand) but overall they are so good.

Wyatt's really starting to lift his head so well. He gets up on his arms and looks around for a minute or two at a time. He can also scoot a little bit if there's something to push his feet against. He's holding toys and can usually get them up to his mouth to gnaw on them. He's rejecting the paci more and more (thank goodness!) but he's starting to find a thumb or finger to chew or suck on. He likes being in the bouncy seat because he can make it move all by himself. We are contemplating getting a swing but I'm not really sure we need one. The only reason I'd really want one is because it would help him go to sleep. Another month or so and he'll be able to use the saucer. He's getting so big so fast I just don't know what to do. Every time I turn around he's doing something new!

Speaking of turning around...We were getting ready to go to lunch today. I got Wyatt's milk ready (4 oz) and left the open bottle on the counter. Oliver was running around looking for his shoes and I went into the bedroom to get dressed. When I came back out Oliver was still looking for his shoes but the milk was GONE. The empty bottle was just sitting there on the counter. There was no milk anywhere - not on the floor, not in the sink, not on Oliver - but I'm pretty sure that Oliver got that bottle down and drank Wyatt's milk.

Halloween costumes cost how much?!?!?!

After looking at costumes all over the place and finding that they were all around $20 we finally decided on this. It's actually pajamas but it will totally work for a costume as well. There's no way we can afford to spend $20 on something he's going to wear for a few hours! I don't know how people do it, especially for more than one kid! Anyway we tried it on earlier and he just loved it. He ran around being "The bat-uh-man" until it was time for bed. The first picture is Oliver checking himself out in the big mirror on his dresser.
The second one is him showing off his "Bat-uh-man" moves.
