Extra money...

What to do?? We got our tax refund and there was enough money to pay bills and have some left over. Bob said we could each have $100 to do whatever we wanted with. Oliver spent his on cloth diapers...we should get those in a few weeks. Bob is getting a weight bench with his, and some other things too, but that's the major purchase. As for me, I have NO idea what to get. There's nothing that I really want right now. I could get some new clothes, but that's in the budget so I don't have to spend my fun money on that. I have NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO idea!!

A few pictures...

He might look like he's excited about the toys, but he's looking at Daddy!!
He likes playing in this though, it helps strengthen his legs and he loves spinning around and around in that seat.
Here he is standing up with Daddy. He's such a big boy! (I love those dino jammies)
Here he is playing on his Nanny quilt. His two favorite things, the quilt and Spike.

laughter...

I forgot to mention that he is laughing a lot more now too. When I got home yesterday I was "eating" his cheeks and he thought it was hilarious!! I love hearing him laugh.

Also, he's become a squealer. He shreaks and squeals in a VERY high pitched voice when he's excited or happy.

5 months old!!!

Oliver is 5 months old now. He's getting so big and grown up! Today he rolled over for the first time all by himself!! HOOOOOOORAAYYYYYYYYYY!!! I just happened to be recording him with my camera phone at the time so I have it on video!! I don't know how to transfer it to the computer though. I'll have to see if Bob does.
He's also been awake a lot more. He's down the about 3 naps a day for about 45 minutes to an hour. In between naps he loves playing. He's getting really good at grabbing things and getting them in his mouth. Just a few weeks ago he would try to put it in his mouth however it was in his hand, but now he's turning it so that it goes IN his mouth not just in front of it. He plays in his exersaucer a few times a day, usually for about 10 or 15 minutes each time. That's all he can stand so far but he's getting better every day.
He's eating cereal once a day, about 10 bites or so each time. That isn't that much cereal I guess, but he likes it! We usually do that around noon and then follow up with some milk and a nap.
He loves loves loves to stand up. He'll stand up in your lap, or on the floor, or pretty much anywhere. He can stand for a second or two by himself if you just keep your hands hovering on either side to catch him when he starts to topple over.
His tummy time is much improved too. He holds his head up and looks all around. He is even grabbing at things when he's holding himself up.
For a while now he's been able to recognize the bottle and he opens his mouth to get it.
We tried moving him into his own bed. We moved the crib into our room so that he can still see/hear us but he's in his bed so he can get used to it. Well, I fed him and rocked him to sleep and put him in his bed. I crept into bed and layed down and started to drift off, but he woke up and started to fuss. I let him fuss for about 5 minutes before I got up and rocked him back to sleep and put him back in his bed. Just as I got comfortable he started fussing again. I let him fuss for a few minutes until it turned into real crying. I got up and rocked him back to sleep and put him back in bed. I waited a few minutes to make sure he was ok before going back to bed. A few seconds later he woke up and started crying and crying and crying. I got up and this time it took about 20 minutes or so to get him calmed down. I figured three strikes, and put him back in our bed for the rest of the night. We're going to keep trying to do this every night until he can sleep in his own bed.

Going to church...

This is Oliver dressed up to go to church for the first time. We haven't been since we found out we were pregnant and finally my work schedule allowed us to go. We sat in the back next to the nursery just in case he didn't behave well. Fortunately he did great - he played and looked around during the songs and then when the message started he settled down with a bottle and went to sleep. What a good little boy!
Also, the pastor (David) remembered us - he even remembered my name! - and was very excited to see us. He's the one that married us 2 years, 5 months, 2 days ago. We didn't get to stay for the whole service because I had to be to work at 12 but it was good to go back. Posted by Picasa

playing!

Here are a few shots that Bob took of Oliver playing. He loooooves these rings. He chews on them day and night. We have a set in his bed, in our bed, and in the living room.
Here's Oliver playing happily in his exersaucer. He kind of ignores the toys right now except every once in a while. What he really likes is spinning around and around in that seat.
