Happy half birthday, Oliver! That's right, my little tiny itty bitty baby is now 6 months old. He's so big now! I can't believe that 6 months has passed since he was born. It really flew by.
Here's what Oliver is up to lately:
He can roll from tummy to back
He can roll from back to side
He grabs things a lot
He can pass things from one hand to the other
He can turn things over in his hands
He laughs a lot
He can sit up when he's leaning back against something...he doesn't fall to the sides
He can sit up by himself with no support for a few seconds
He is very attentive to noises
He plays with his feet
He looks for things that he drops
He can stand holding onto something (usually me or bob...sometimes the sofa or his crib)
He sleeps through the night...about 9 hours at a time
He talks...with lots of syllables and consonants
He recognizes people, even some that he doesn't see that often
He turns his head to look at you when you are talking
He only naps 2 or 3 times a day
He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth
He opens his mouth for the spoon when he eats
He eats solid food!! So far he's had rice cereal, peas, green beans, and oatmeal.
He slept in his bed for 3 and a half hours two nights ago. He probably would have gone longer but he woke up in a puddle. Poor guy. So we cleaned him up and snuggled him back to sleep. I was too tired to change his sheets.
He eats bites twice a day, with cereal and a veggie each time. He will usually eat it all up. Tomorrow he gets to try either carrots or squash - I haven't decided which one. I'm excited! (but not about the orange poo that will follow) He really liked the oatmeal that we gave him for the first time yesterday. I tasted it and it has a lot more flavor than the rice. It was kind of sweet.
He's waking up from his nap so I'm off to play.
