he loves that zebra...

Oliver loves to chew on this zebra, which we actually call Zeebah. He's getting really good at manipulating things with his little hands. He can twist and turn them to get them into his mouth at the right angle to chew on. He's wearing a new shirt, which I'm not sure I've posted a picture of...I'll have to do that later.

squash is fun!

Oliver loves the squash. I think it's because it is so sweet. I tried it and it actually tastes like pumpkin. Very yummy! He eats it up really well, even though a lot of it ends up on his face.

breakfast...

I took this just after he had his breakfast. He was just so happy to be sitting up in that chair. He actually stayed in it for about 15 minutes after this playing with some books and stuff. What a good boy!

dino outfit...

Here's another new outfit. Isn't it cute? I just love the little tracks up the leg. There's a matching jacket but he wasn't wearing it today.

NOOOOOO nap!

Oliver has decided that he doesn't want a nap today. He is very tired. I don't know why he won't nap. He fell asleep earlier but as soon as I put him down he woke back up...3 times we did this...why??? He's grumpy now because he's so tired. I just put him in his bed with a few toys to have a little bit of quiet down time instead of a nap. Maybe he'll fall asleep on his own? Probably not. I can hear him squeeling with displeasure as I type. I can tell this is going to be a fun day!

6 month birthday!!!!

Happy half birthday, Oliver! That's right, my little tiny itty bitty baby is now 6 months old. He's so big now! I can't believe that 6 months has passed since he was born. It really flew by.

Here's what Oliver is up to lately:

He can roll from tummy to back
He can roll from back to side
He grabs things a lot
He can pass things from one hand to the other
He can turn things over in his hands
He laughs a lot
He can sit up when he's leaning back against something...he doesn't fall to the sides
He can sit up by himself with no support for a few seconds
He is very attentive to noises
He plays with his feet
He looks for things that he drops
He can stand holding onto something (usually me or bob...sometimes the sofa or his crib)
He sleeps through the night...about 9 hours at a time
He talks...with lots of syllables and consonants
He recognizes people, even some that he doesn't see that often
He turns his head to look at you when you are talking
He only naps 2 or 3 times a day
He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth
He opens his mouth for the spoon when he eats
He eats solid food!! So far he's had rice cereal, peas, green beans, and oatmeal.

He slept in his bed for 3 and a half hours two nights ago. He probably would have gone longer but he woke up in a puddle. Poor guy. So we cleaned him up and snuggled him back to sleep. I was too tired to change his sheets.
He eats bites twice a day, with cereal and a veggie each time. He will usually eat it all up. Tomorrow he gets to try either carrots or squash - I haven't decided which one. I'm excited! (but not about the orange poo that will follow) He really liked the oatmeal that we gave him for the first time yesterday. I tasted it and it has a lot more flavor than the rice. It was kind of sweet.
He's waking up from his nap so I'm off to play.

HOW adorable is this boy?!?!

Here he is modeling the shirt that Daddy picked out for him. He looks so adorable! He's such a little man. I think he looks super in green...but then again I think he looks super in anything. :)

stylin'

Oliver wanted to wear one of his new outfits today. So here he is modeling his plaid shirt with sweater vest. The vest is still a little big on him because we got it in 9 month size, but it still looks goooood!

When I'm not home...

This is what the boys do when I'm at work. This first picture is Oliver eating GREEN BEANS! Apparently he loves green beans. He ate them all up! He definately liked them better than peas.
Here he is playing with Daddy. Doesn't he look happy?! Sometimes he sits on Daddy's shoulders, and sometimes he's a "hat" and sits on his head. He thinks it's very hilarious.
