the agony!

I was organizing Oliver's dresser when I realized that some of his clothes don't fit him anymore! I was sorting them out, but I got so upset and started to cry because he's getting so big :( I found the shirt they gave him in the hospital and it was so tiny...I put it in his keepsake box so he can have it when he's older. Anyway, it made me sad to put away some of the things he used to wear. His favorite shirt that has a fire truck and says "this is a fire truck, it goes we-ooh we-ooh" is too small for him now.

We went for a visit to Nanny and Pappy's house and got to meet Aunt Angie, Ethan (cousin), Eleanor (cousin), Aunt Cheryl, Tyler (cousin), Kelsie (cousin), and Jordyn (cousin). He was fussy or sleeping most of the time. Most of the rest of the time he was eating. I guess he was nervous in a new place with a bunch of people. By the time we left though he was more relaxed and was awake looking around at everyone. He gave everyone hugs when we left (as much as a baby can hug) and gave Jordyn a kiss (well he opened his mouth and put it against her cheek...that's a baby kiss in my opinion) He did really well on his first long car ride (about an hour and a half) - he slept the whole way except for on the way there he woke up and ate a little bit. Hopefully that's a good sign that he'll do ok next week. Pictures will be posted later.

2 month checkup

Oliver had his two month checkup today. He cried practically the whole time...and he hardly ever cries. First the doctor tried to pull a piece of skin off where his circumcision was done a little weird. He definately didn't like that!! The she checked his hips, which he never likes. After she finished her exam he had to get 5 vaccinations! Luckily one was liquid and he got to drink it, but the rest were shots. He got one in his left leg, two in his right, and one in his right arm. He screamed and screamed. I can't understand how the nurse does it! I cried the whole time, too, because when she did the first one he looked up at me like "Mom, why are you letting her hurt me?" It broke my heart and I hated it terribly. When we got home he just slept for a long time. When he woke up he was hungry so I went ahead and gave him a dose of Tylenol (per the dr, to keep down fever if he gets one) and fed him. He fell asleep again immediately after and slept for a few hours before he was hungry again. Pretty much he's slept the whole time since we got home except when he woke up and cried for about 30 minutes. Poor little guy. :(
He hasn't gotten a fever yet, so hopefully he won't.

some new outfits

This one isn't new, he got it at one of his showers. He just now fits into it though, and isn't it cute! He looks like a little jailbird.

This is one of the shirts he got for his 2 month birthday. Bob picked it out. I'm not sure you can tell in the picture here, but it says "Hi. I'm new here"

This is one of the outfits that Birch and Gretchen made for him. I think it looked really cute, even though the pants were really long on him.

So much going on!

We've really started getting settled in the new house. Bob fixed the second bathroom in time for our visitors this weekend. Jason and Ani came down from Maryland to visit and see Oliver for the first time. We had lots of fun with them, even though we mostly just hung around the house. As it was Ani's first visit to NC we had to take her to see the big dresser and ended up going to see the big chair and the other big dresser, too. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
Oliver has a dr's appointment tomorrow to get his second round of immunizations. I'm not looking forward to it since he gets 4 shots this time. She also said that he will probably get a fever after this round. I've already got the baby Motrin ready. Poor Oliver. :( ...I'll post details of the appointment tomorrow as well.
I'm still waiting on Halloween pictures! Maybe I'll just put the costume back on him and take pictures myself. That might be easier than waiting around. So maybe those will be here tomorrow as well.
I think that's it for now, and it's terribly late so I'm going to bed.
