Intense stare

Wyatt is very alert and aware of what's going on. He looks all around when he's awake. He seems to enjoy going outside because there's lots of light and plenty to look at. Bob sat him up a little in the stroller so he could watch Oliver and Jasper play.

After a while he started blowing bubbles, it was so cute!

Same pose but looking very different

This first one is Wyatt, the second one is Oliver. They do a lot of the same things. They both look super cute sitting up like this. They look like they are thinking really hard.
This is still one of my favorite pictures of Oliver. Look at those fat cheeks!! I just love how he's holding his hands, too.

Can you tell which is which?

One of these pictures is Oliver and one is Wyatt. They look so much alike that Bob thought they were both of Wyatt. Can you tell who is who?

Arts and Crafts show

We went to the arboretum today for the arts and crafts show. We had a good time browsing the booths, drinking lemonade, watching dancers, listening to singers and eating ice cream. We didn't buy anything (although I was soooo close) but had a good time anyway. When we were leaving Wyatt got hungry so we stopped at the playground so Oliver could play while he ate. Then we went to PieWorks for dinner...yum! Cheddar bacon burger pizza - it was so good! There was a couple with a little girl sitting diagonally across from us and Oliver kept staring at the little girl. Wyatt started crying so I got up to rock him a little and we stuck up a conversation - now we have a playdate! I'm so excited because they are members of the GCM just like we are so now we have someone to go with. Charlotte (the little girl) is 20 months so she and Oliver are almost the same age. We're going this week either Wednesday or Thursday. What fun!

Oliver and the potty

Today I decided to just bite the bullet and get this potty training thing on the fast track. I put Oliver on the potty when he woke up and he did his usual business (poop and pee). Then I put him on the potty every hour after that for the rest of the day except when he took his nap. He peed every time but two, and once was because he had just wet his diaper. He only had two wet diapers all day though! He woke up from his almost 3 hour nap dry! What a great job he did. Hopefully this will be a trend and I'll be able to keep up my end of it. Oh yeah, the first time he went today he told me he had to go so that's another good thing. Toward the end of the day he would fight a little going in because I think he was just tired of sitting there but it'll be easier once he can tell me every time he needs to go.

Anyway, HOORAY FOR OLIVER!!

Scroll down for pictures!

He played himself to sleep

Cool dude in a hoodie

Another shirt from Aunt Sarah. Oliver loves a hoodie!

Cool dude!

Oliver rediscovered his sunglasses yesterday. He will actually wear them now instead of just ripping them off to play with them. Doesn't he look so cool?! I love the outfit he's wearing, too. (Thanks, Aunt Sarah)

Two Happy Faces

Wyatt is getting quite talkative. When he talks he smiles like crazy...like he's proud of himself. What a cute smile! I can't seem to get him to make the huge smile when I have the camera out so this is cute, but it's not the cutest. I'll keep trying.

Some interesting links...

Here is an alternative to the financial "bailout" - from Dave Ramsey.

Here is someone with a plan to have 100% green energy within 10 years. They also let you know how YOU can help

Sleepy baby

Wyatt would not go to sleep the other day. Finally Bob held him like this to try to burp him and he fell asleep. What a cute face!

Adventures with Zoobah!

One Christmas my mom got Oliver this baby doll. She thought it would help him be a better big brother and learn to nurture and all that. He just gave him a name, Zoobah, a few weeks after Wyatt was born. He likes to take care of Zoobah while I take care of Wyatt. Here he is giving Zoobah some tummy time or, as he calls it, swimmin'. When Zoobah gets tired of getting his head up (good jobbym Zoobah!) Oliver will give him a snuggle break - just like I do with Wyatt.

Here he is playing with Zoobah in the bouncy seat. Zoobah looooves the bouncy seat! Oliver rocks him (rather violently).
Sometimes he straps him in and sometimes he doesn't. When the toys are on there he tells Zoobah what they are and what instrument they play. There's a dog, a bear, and a cat. They have a guitar, a drum and a trumpet.

After all that playing Zoobah is very hungry! Oliver used to have just the plastic part of this bottle. I found some fast flow nipples the other day and put one on since Wyatt won't be needing it for a while. Oliver is a very good daddy to Zoobah!!

The elusive smile

Wyatt smiled for the camera today during playtime. Isn't it a handsome smile?!

What to get me/us for Christmas...

If people insist on getting us presents (instead of donations) then I would love to have some new diapers. Bumgenius just came out with some new colors and I want some of the Clementine! Not to mention that I have two kids who are sharing 14 diapers. That means I wash diapers EVERY DAY and sometimes still run out. If everyone could get together and get me 6 more that would be TERRIFIC!

Potty time

Oliver, do you have to go potty? Even when he does he always says "nooooooooooo" with his mouth like this. Silly boy!
*Bob didn't approve of the potty pic so I took it down

Wyatt's first "real" bath

I finally got around to washing the tub and giving Wyatt a real bath. I've been giving him sponge baths but this time he got in the water.
He didn't seem to mind - he didn't cry until the very end. He even kicked his feet and splashed a litttle.
Here he is afterward in his little hooded towel. It was a bit cold in the house so I only took two pictures before I picked him back up to snuggle him warm and get his jammies on. He smells so nice now!

Wyatt's visit from the nurse

We had the county health nurse come out again today for a follow up visit. She brought him some vitamins and weighed him again. He's 11 pounds 11 ounces!! He's gaining weight so fast I can barely keep up. He's in size 2 diapers now, too. I think it's kinda neat that he was 10/10 last time he was weighed and 11/11 this time. Maybe next time (Oct 14th) he'll be 12/12 or 13/13! Anyway that was pretty much all she did and then she was on her way.

Thanks, Gramma and Grampa!

Oliver wore one of his new outfits today. It was the "wee-ooh" shirt and the black cords. He looked so big!

He's such a poser!

"Oliver, where's the wee-ooh"?

And, of course, I can't post without a Wyatt pic. He wore cords today, too!

A visit from the grandparents!

This was a while ago but I totally forgot to upload the pictures! Here is Gramma with Wyatt...

We tried and tried to get a good group photo but someone wasn't cooperating!

Most of them looked like this...

This one turned out ok but Gramma had her hair up and didn't like it.

Oliver had fun running around and playing with Grampa while Gramma cooked casseroles. Yummy! They only stayed a few hours but we had a good time (and good food). They also brought Oliver his birthday present (like he needed a reminder about birthday birthday birthday...he still asks for presents!) which was two pairs of pants and two shirts. The courderoy ones are my favorite! I will post pics (for you Mom) when he wears them.

Ice cream festival!

Bob told us yesterday that today was the ice cream festival at Guilford College. We headed down after he got home from work and had a good time eating ice cream and walking around. There were rides for the kiddies - Oliver rode the Berry go Round (giant spinning strawberries) and went in a bouncy thing. He also made the bell ring by hitting the thing with a giant hammer and won a pokey ball. We had (burnt) corndogs and lemonade for lunch. It was so much fun! After we left we ran around the campus throwing the ball and hugging trees. Oliver was very well behaved the whole time. Wyatt rode in the Moby (which again started a conversation with a stranger!). What a great time!

Last time we went (3 years ago) they had a bunch of booths set up with crafts and such. They didn't have that this time and we were a bit disappointed. I guess they traded that for the rides. Too bad!

The Moby wrap...

I have to say that this is the best thing to have when you have a baby! I love love love wearing it and wearing Wyatt. He's so peaceful when he's in it. It's also a great conversation starter. I've had lots of people stop me to ask what it is, how it works, and where they can get one. I wish I had more business cards for the place I ordered it from so that I could give them out. I loooooooove my Moby!
